I was the backup shooter today :)

It was a relaxing Sunday morning organising Yum Cha with my dad for his Birthday. After hanging up the phone my mobile rang, it was from Chris & Kate (fellow AIPP photographers) he said Kate was not feeling too good, caught the winter bug, and needed me as a backup photographer just in case.

I quickly charged the cam batteries and loaded my car with my gear and went to Yum Cha at Hurstville with my dad & mum. I left abit early while my wife and kiddies was finishing off the yummy lobster noodle dish :)

The day was great, I was able to help a friend and hopefully the images are ok :) I still don’t understand this raw thingy :)

Backup is very important - not just backup equipment but also back up shooters :) Hope you guys fully recover soon.

Woooohooo I just received my new demo handcrafted book from my supplier :) My style is all about simplicity and this book totally matches my style, I love how this new book is so simple and retro. I love the red leather too. I got a few more new books, but I won’t post those online :)

Make sure to check out my new website at www.vincentlai.com.au

I will be hibernating for a couple of weeks designing books.

Awesome Greek wedding today :) Todays bride was a bridesmaid at a wedding I captured in 2005 and also sister of the groom. The day started at the hairdresser (Nix - Hair Design) at Croydon Park followed by a quick prep before we headed out to the church. The ceremony was at the St Gerasimos Greek Orthodox Church @ Leichhardt. After the ceremony we captured the formals around the Rocks areas and Sydney CBD. There was plenty of music and dancing at the reception located at Dockside - Cockle Bay, great panoramic views of Darling Harbour. The transportation today was by Bonnie & Clyde vintage wedding cars. The Bouzouki music floor show was by O Ilias Ehei Kefia - this guy is amazing !

Today is one of the most popular wedding dates of the year 7th July 2007 (07-07-07). No wedding today for me, I did not book any because it is School Holidays :) We went out to Pancakes on the Rocks to have a nice lunch, my kiddies loved it. We ordered abit too much food, so lunch became dinner :)

Next year Friday 8th August 2008 (08-08-08) is going to be a very popular wedding date for the asian culture. Eight is considered a lucky number in Chinese culture because it sounds like the word prosper or wealth. Also it will the the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games - so it must be a good date :)

Just finished another album design.
